Anti-Aging Skincare

Want to restore the youthful appearance of your skin? Pure Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center offers anti-aging solutions and skin rejuvenation treatments that can give your skin the “bounce back” you’re looking for, whatever your concern or skin type.

Our anti-aging procedures are designed to produce more collagen in the skin and revitalize the elasticity it once had to tighten it up again.

The anti-aging treatments we offer include:

  • Dermal Filler Injections (Botox®/Dysport®/Restylane®/Juvederm®/Perlane)
  • Hydrafacial®
  • Chemical Peels

Botox®

Botox is a neuromodulator that works by temporarily relaxing the muscles that create lines and creases in the skin. In addition to being a cosmetic, anti-aging solution, Botox® can also treat hair loss, excessive sweating, keloids, neck bands, gummy smiles, and thin lips. The best Botox results are dependent on placement and dosage — at Pure Dermatology, our dermatologists have the expertise to administer Botox for natural results that don't look overdone.

Excel V® Laser Treatment

Are you tired of unwanted scars, spots, or skin redness? Excel V is a non-invasive, dual-wavelength laser that targets vascular and pigment concerns with a high degree of precision, without damaging surrounding tissue. It's used for a wide range of conditions: rosacea, redness, broken capillaries, spider veins, brown spots, sun damage, angiomas, and certain types of scarring.

Fraxel® Laser Treatment

Fraxel is a fractional laser treatment that works by targeting thousands of microscopic zones in the skin, leaving surrounding tissue intact. It's effective for a range of concerns, including sun damage, brown spots, fine lines, acne scars, melasma, and uneven texture, and it works at a depth that produces genuinely visible results rather than subtle maintenance. There are different Fraxel settings and treatment intensities, so the experience and recovery vary depending on what's being treated and how aggressively. Most patients see continued improvement for several months following treatment as collagen remodels. It's one of the more versatile resurfacing options available, and Dr. Sadeghi has extensive experience using it across a range of skin concerns and complexions.

Clear and Brilliant® Laser Treatment

Clear and Brilliant is a gentle fractional laser designed for patients who want to stay ahead of aging rather than reverse significant damage.  It works by creating microscopic treatment zones in the upper layers of the skin, which prompts the body to replace damaged tissue with fresher, healthier skin. The result is improved tone and texture, reduced pore appearance, and a more even complexion, without extensive recovery time.

Microneedling

If you’re not a fan of fine lines, acne scars, or wrinkles, you’re not alone. In some cases, your skin just needs a repair in order to make them less noticeable. Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that uses fine needles to trigger the production of collagen and elastin. Treatments have a proven track record for treating acne scars, hyper-pigmentation, hypo-pigmentation, enlarged pores, fine lines, and more. It also works across most skin types and tones, making it a reliable option when some laser treatments aren't appropriate.

Skin Tag Removal

Skin tags are small, soft growths that hang from the skin on a thin stalk. They're completely benign, but they tend to appear in visible or irritating spots: the neck, eyelids, underarms, and areas where skin rubs together.

For many patients, the motivation for removal is purely cosmetic. For others, a tag in a high-friction area has become uncomfortable enough that it needs to go. At Pure Dermatology, we remove skin tags quickly and precisely in-office. Depending on the size and location, Dr. Sadeghi will use the method best suited to your situation, which may involve snipping, cauterization, or cryotherapy (freezing). Most removals take only a few minutes, cause minimal discomfort, and leave no significant downtime. Multiple tags can often be treated in a single visit.

One thing worth noting: anything that looks like a skin tag but has changed in color, shape, or size should be evaluated medically before removal, not just cosmetically. Having a board-certified dermatologist perform the removal, rather than an aesthetician or a DIY approach, means you get that clinical check as part of the process.

Sclerotherapy for Spider Veins

Spider veins are small, dilated blood vessels that appear close to the skin's surface, typically on the legs, though they can develop on the face as well. They're usually red, blue, or purple, and often form web-like clusters. They're not dangerous, but for patients bothered by their appearance, they're also not something that fades on its own.

Sclerotherapy is the standard treatment for spider veins and small varicose veins on the legs. A solution is injected directly into the affected vessel, causing the vein wall to collapse. Over the following weeks, the body reabsorbs the treated vein and it gradually fades from view. The procedure is done in-office, requires no anesthesia, and most patients return to normal activity the same day. For spider veins on the face, our Excel V laser targets the pigment in the vessel without any injection.

FAQs about Cosmetic Dermatology

Read below for some frequently asked questions about cosmetic dermatology procedures, conditions, and treatments.

  • How do I know which cosmetic treatment is right for me?

The best way to know which treatment is right for you is to have a consultation with a certified cosmetic dermatology. Cosmetic dermatology isn't one-size-fits-all. The right treatment depends on your skin type, your concerns, your schedule, and how much downtime you're willing to work around.

Our dermatologists take the time with each patient to understand what's bothering them and what's realistic, rather than recommending the same approach to everyone. If you're not sure where to start, that's completely fine. Book a consultation and we'll figure it out together.

  • Is cosmetic dermatology at a dermatology practice different from going to a med spa?

Yes, there is a difference between a dermatology practice and a medspa. At Pure Dermatology, cosmetic treatments are performed or directly supervised by a board-certified dermatologist. That means your provider has the clinical training to recognize when something is a cosmetic concern versus a medical one, and knows  how to treat both. A med spa may offer similar services, but the level of medical oversight varies significantly. For patients who want the confidence that comes with seeing a trained specialist, a dermatology practice is often the better choice.

  • What's the difference between cosmetic dermatology and plastic surgery?

Plastic surgery involves surgical procedures like facelifts, rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, and implants. Cosmetic dermatology focuses on non-surgical treatments, like injectables, lasers, peels, and other in-office procedures that improve the skin's appearance without going under the knife.

The two fields overlap in some areas, but for patients looking to address skin texture, tone, volume loss, or early signs of aging, cosmetic dermatology can often achieve meaningful results with far less downtime and risk than surgery.

  • Do I need to see a plastic surgeon, or can a dermatologist address my concerns?

For most non-surgical cosmetic concerns, like wrinkles, sagging skin, uneven tone, sun damage, and loss of volume, a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist is well-equipped to help. You might consider a  plastic surgeon when the concern requires structural change, like significant excess skin, facial reconstruction, or results that injectables and lasers simply can't replicate. During your consultation, we'll give you an honest assessment of what's achievable with the treatments we offer and whether a different specialist might serve you better.

  • Are chemical peels right for my skin type?

Chemical peels can be effective for a wide range of skin concerns, including uneven tone, sun damage, fine lines, acne-prone skin, and mild pigmentation issues. During your consultation, your dermatologist will evaluate your skin and recommend a peel strength that's appropriate for your skin type and what you're trying to achieve.

  • What can dermal fillers treat, and how long do results last?

Fillers restore volume that's been lost over time and can also reshape or add definition. They're often appropriate to resolve hollowed cheeks, thin lips, deep lines around the mouth, or a less defined jawline. At Pure Dermatology, we use a range of products including Juvederm, Restylane, Voluma, and several others, because different fillers have different consistencies and are better suited to different areas of the face. Results typically last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years depending on the product used and the area treated. We'll walk you through what to expect before any treatment.

  • What's the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Both are neuromodulators that relax the muscles responsible for expression lines, including forehead creases, crow's feet, and frown lines between the brows. The difference is mostly in formulation. Dysport has a slightly smaller molecule, which means it can spread a bit more from the injection site. For some patients, this means a more natural look in broader treatment areas like the forehead. We'll recommend whichever is the better fit for your anatomy and goals during your consultation.

  • What is Clear and Brilliant and how is it different from Fraxel?

Clear and Brilliant is a gentle fractional laser treatment designed for skin maintenance and early prevention. It helps with finer texture, mild tone issues, and early signs of aging. It's often called a "baby Fraxel" because it works on a similar principle but at a lower intensity. Recovery is minimal, typically a day or two of mild redness.

Fraxel goes deeper and produces more significant results, but it requires more downtime. If you're not ready for a more intensive laser treatment or want to maintain results between sessions, Clear and Brilliant can be a good fit. We offer both and will help you decide which makes sense given your skin and your timeline.

  • What does sclerotherapy treat, and what should I expect?

Sclerotherapy is the standard treatment for spider veins and small varicose veins, most commonly on the legs. A solution is injected directly into the targeted vein, which causes it to collapse and eventually fade. Most patients need more than one session. There's no significant downtime, though we typically recommend wearing compression stockings for a short period afterward. Spider veins on the face are treated differently, usually with our Excel V laser rather than injections.
